ABOUT US

Flåm Guide Service AS was established in 2001 to broaden and strengthen the local community and tourism. The main objective was to increase available activities for the individual traveller, corporate travellers, groups and conference-participants.
We in Flåm Guide Service all have different backgrounds and experience and together we represent more than ten years of guiding and travel agent experience in Flåm, Australia, Aurland and Spitsbergen. We are all active hikers and share the common interest in outdoor activities, local natural and cultural history, fishing and hunting.

Our vision is:
"We are going to make Flåm a uniqe all-year round destination!"

Flåm Guide Service is situated in the inner harbour of Flåm where we have our office, pier and boats. Today we provide guiding on the Flåm railway, the historical railway climbing the mountains from Flåm to Myrdal. We also provide FjordSafaris, guided hikes and bicycle excursions. Our guide staff represents vivid, committed and competent individuals available for guiding assignments in different languages.
A main objective is to maintain the development and quality of the individual guides, services and products of Flåm Guide Service. We focus on using services provided within the local community and food delivered and prepared by local farmers.

Flåm is situated in the Aurland municipality in the very end of the Aurlandsfjord. The Aurlandsfjord is a branch of the well known Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world. The area represents steep, dramatic mountainsides, impressing waterfalls, magnificent fjord landscape and glacier water. In addition, Flåm is the starting point for the Flåm railway. This large tourist attraction (the largest in Scandinavia), is visited by 2-3 hundred thousand tourists every year.
Flåm is also a frequently visited cruise harbour with approximately 115 cruise-ship arrivals during summertime. The Flåm and Aurland valley, the old railway and the road built by the railway workers are popular for recreation, hiking, bicycling and other outdoor activities.

Opportunities in the area are numerous and we customise FjordSafaris and other guiding for special excursions or events!
